We build Kinlynk to minimise data collection, keep family groups private, avoid selling data, and restrict operational access. We do not use your family location history for advertising. Because Kinlynk currently stores location data to provide maps and alerts, authorised infrastructure or support administrators may technically access data when required for security, operations, legal compliance, or support. End-to-end encryption and stronger technical access limits are on our roadmap.
1. Who controls your information
Kinlynk is owned and operated by Patrol X Technologies Pty Ltd. It was created by Tankrich AI Consulting. This Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store, and protect personal information.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use Kinlynk, we may collect:
- account information such as name, email address, authentication status, and user ID;
- family group details such as group names, invite codes, memberships, and roles;
- location data shared by your device when permission is enabled;
- saved places, geofence radius, arrival/leaving events, and timestamps;
- device, browser, app install, service-worker, and permission status information;
- support, diagnostic, security, and error information.
3. Why we collect it
We collect and use information to:
- provide the private family map and invite-code groups;
- show shared locations to authorised family group members;
- send arrival, leaving, safety, permission, and app update notifications;
- protect accounts, detect abuse, troubleshoot issues, and improve reliability;
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
4. Location and notification permissions
Location permission is essential to Kinlynk. Without it, the family map and place alerts cannot work. Notification permission is essential for timely alerts and reminders to reopen the PWA so location sharing remains fresh.
PWA background location is limited by Apple, Google, browsers, device settings, battery modes, and operating systems. Kinlynk may ask users to reopen the app periodically.
5. How family sharing works
Your location is intended to be visible only to members of family groups you join or create. Invite codes should only be shared with trusted people. Group owners and members are responsible for respecting each person's consent and privacy.
6. What we do not do
- We do not sell family location data.
- We do not use location history for third-party advertising.
- We do not intentionally let unrelated families see each other's private map data.
- We do not ask users to reinstall the PWA to receive ordinary app updates.
7. Disclosure and service providers
We may disclose information to service providers who help operate Kinlynk, such as hosting, authentication, database, map, geocoding, analytics, error reporting, security, email, and notification providers. We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect users, to investigate abuse, or in connection with a business transfer.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including authentication, access controls, encrypted transport, and infrastructure security controls. No system is perfectly secure, and you should protect your device, account, and invite codes.
9. Retention
We keep information only for as long as reasonably needed for the service, security, legal compliance, backups, dispute handling, and operational records. We aim to minimise retention of detailed location data as the product matures.
10. Access, correction, and deletion
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us. Some information may need to be retained where required for security, legal compliance, backups, or legitimate business purposes.
11. Children and dependants
Kinlynk is intended for family use with appropriate parental, guardian, or legal consent. Adults who invite or supervise children or dependants are responsible for ensuring they have authority and consent to do so.
12. Overseas processing
Our providers may store or process data in Australia or overseas. By using Kinlynk, you understand that information may be processed in locations where our infrastructure and service providers operate.
13. Contact and complaints
Contact speak2vb@gmail.com for privacy requests or complaints. We will take privacy complaints seriously and respond within a reasonable time.
